Louisa Abelha
Head of HASS, Service Coordinator, Badminton Academy Coordinator
Louisa Abelha is the Head of Learning Area H.A.S.S. and an enthusiastic teacher of Humanities and Social Sciences at St Andrew’s Grammar. Having grown up in a multicultural family and traveled extensively, Louisa brings a wealth of experience and diversity to her classroom. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, both from the University of Western Australia. Louisa has taught at Manjimup SHS and St. Mary’s Anglican Girls’ School before joining St Andrew’s.
Louisa’s approach to teaching emphasizes personal empowerment and instilling a love for learning and inquiry in her students. She is passionate about badminton and runs the Badminton Club, as well as serving as the Service Coordinator for the H.O.P.E. (Help Our Planet Earth) Environmental Club and Service Committee. In her free time, Louisa enjoys travel, exercise, cooking, reading, and spending time with her family. She is dedicated to ensuring that every student achieves their personal best and takes the time to get to know each and every one of her students.
