We worked extremely hard to make this partnership a reality. To partner with such a high profile and outstanding professional club, such as Perth Glory, is a massive coup for the school and being the first academy with the club is an honour.
St Andrew’s Grammar is the first school in Perth to become an official Perth Glory Academy School
Our footballers will gain so very much much through the professional coaching they will have the opportunity to experience. We are extremely excited by this long term agreement, and know many students will now be looking at us as a school, not only due to being outstanding in academics, but also as a school that will present the best football coaching available.
What does this mean for St Andrew’s?
Professional Soccer Coaching & Training
This means that a professional soccer coach will be at St Andrew’s Grammar permanently to coach and train our soccer students in a specialised class, and as an alternative to their current PE classes or during before school sessions. This coach will be a Perth Glory Academy Coach who has been internationally trained and will be accustomed to identifying talent, as well as having access to the representative youth teams that Perth Glory currently has at various age groups.
Partnership Uniform & Regular Soccer Competitions
Our students will also have the honour and privilege of wearing the Perth Glory strip with a St Andrew’s Grammar emblem on their uniforms. This is worn when representing the school, in not only the various soccer competitions, but also new soccer competitions through this program, which will test our students that much more.
Perth Glory Partnership & Resurfaced Oval/Pitch
It is a real honour for our school to be chosen as the first of its kind in Perth. A great deal of work has gone into creating the terms of this partnership, and we are also investing in resurfacing our front oval so that our students can enjoy an excellent pitch all year round.
