Important Parent Information: Current Attendance – Thursday 19 March
Dear Parents & Guardians,
It is clear from the current attendance rate, that some parents are deciding to keep their children at home instead of sending them to school due to concerns relating to COVID-19.
It is important to understand that at present there is no directive for our school to close and it has been deemed safe to attend by the Departments of Health and Education. The school has also recently put measures in place which go above and beyond what is expected and required from both Departments.
Therefore, whilst the School is open, our focus will continue to be on those students who are attending classes. We do have online platforms ready if the School is directed to close, however these have been put in place for the possibility of a whole school closure and will not be put into use for specific students whose parents have withdrawn them from classes with no directive as this will divide the teachers attention.
All parents have access to Classroom Dojo (Primary) and SEQTA (Secondary) to see what is being covered in the class, however, if students are not attending while the School is still open, our staff are not required to provide at home tuition. This responsibility and duty of care will reside with their parents and guardians.
Should you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact myself via principal@sag.wa.edu.au
